The New "Show Me" Questions wef 04/12/17

Female driving instructor in Luton

The candidate will be asked One "Show Me” and One “Tell Me” question.

The “Tell Me” question will be at the start of the test as before.

The “Show Me” question will be asked DURING the driving part of the driving test and possibly within the 20 minutes of the Independent Driving part of the new test.

There is a possibility of committing a Serious Fault and failing the test with this section of the driving test, if the Examiner has to intervene in any way.

The Examiner will intervene if, by performing the task asked, would inadvertently give the wrong message to other road users or the pupil looses control of the vehicle.

If the pupil isn’t sure how to do it, the Examiner will ask pupil to pull up and locate and then asked to move on and will ask the pupil to perform that particular task again.

Below are The “Show Me” Questions of which only ONE will be asked:-

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you wash and clean the front windscreen?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you wash and clean the rear windscreen?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you would switch on your dipped headlights?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you would set the rear de-mister?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you would operate the horn?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you would de-mist the front windscreen?”

  • “When it is safe to do so, can you show me, how you would open and close the side window?”
